A Little More About Me…

So by now you know I am the certified Career and Life Coach for Mums, and my mission is to help as many ambitious Mums as possible find a career that you love (and land it!)

But I’ll let you in on a secret, I didn’t start here.

I’ve been a lawyer, an Executive Recruiter and a manager and CEO of a not-for-profit.

However, nothing changed my career trajectory quite like motherhood did.

Working Mum on laptop

As my two year old girl walked into my bedroom crying, I was simultaneously breastfeeding my 8 week old boy and typing manically on my laptop, having just returned to work as the CEO of a non-profit. I was in a complete state of overwhelm.

My baby had been diagnosed with chronic reflux and would not stop screaming, I was in so much physical pain with an oversupply of milk (despite struggling with infertility and going through IVF to conceive my baby), and work was not going well.

But I had everything I had always wanted.

A loving husband. A baby boy and a girl. I was CEO of a non-profit whose cause was close to my heart. I proved ‘them’ wrong. I really COULD have it all. But if this was ‘having it all’, it was all too much.

After I left my role as CEO, I did not know what I wanted to do next work-wise.

My head would swim with ideas but I would spin in confusion.

Part of me also didn’t trust myself to make the right decision. What if I changed careers again and regretted it?

I felt stuck. I felt lost.

I was also deeply unhappy (despite having my miracle babies) because a big part of my identity, ‘the worker’, ‘the career woman’, felt like it no longer existed.

I felt guilty that I couldn’t just be happy with what I had. A loving partner and beautiful kids.

I wanted something else, for myself.

I still wanted a career.

When I spoke with other Mums, EVERY SINGLE MUM was struggling with the same thing.

Either the career they had before children was not fulfilling, or it wasn’t sustainable whilst also being the present and engaged Mum that they wanted to be.

I looked around to try and find something specifically designed to help Mums change careers, but there was nothing out there.

We were all lost. With nowhere to turn.

So I created it.

Through the lens of career and life coaching, coupled with my experience and knowledge (as a recruiter and as a hiring manager in corporate and not-for-profit), I created a now proven 3-Stage Career Change Framework to help Mums change careers.

Let’s face it, changing careers as a Mum is VERY different to changing careers when you’re not a Mum.

And for so many Mums, just because we have kids does NOT mean that our ambitious, career go-getter selves has wilted away.

If anything, it lights a fire under us to do work that we believe is purposeful. To pave a career path where we are doing something meaningful. To give back, to help others, to make an impact.

So if you’re an ambitious Mum that’s reading this and is READY to find a career that you love (and land it), now is your chance.

I’m here to help you through it and I’ll be with you every step of the way.
